Who Are We and What Do We Do
The club was established in 1971 as a nonprofit organization to benefit people who like to ski, and travel together as a group. Since then we have expanded to include snowboarding, kayaking, bike riding, golfing and other events. Doing this helps to keep the costs of skiing and traveling down, as we can obtain group rates.
We have, on average, 175 members of all ages and skiing ability. Family and single memberships are available. We also welcome snowboarders and non-skiers who just like to travel and enjoy making new friends.
The club is run by officers elected from the membership each year, and we also have a five member board of directors. We issue a monthly newsletter sent out by mail or directly to people with e-mail addresses containing trip info and all important meetings and trip dates as well as what is happening with our club and it's members.
We organize an annual one week ski/snowboard trip each year, run an additional two or three regional weekend trips, and sponsor between six to eight day trips throughout the season.
Past week long trips have been to Saint Anton Austria, Lake Tahoe, Chamonix France, Big Sky Montana, Lake Louise Canada, Park City Utah and many other well known ski resorts around the world.
Weekend trips are offered during each season in New England or Eastern Canada. We have covered all the ski resorts in our area over the years. Day trips are offered each season and alternate between Saturdays and Sundays in case you can't do a weekend or week trip. There is always something for everyone! The day trips require a $10.00 deposit upon sign-up and the day trip bus is FREE to our members. The weekend and week trips require deposits and payments are set up by the trip leaders. All sign-ups for trips require a deposit.
In addition to our regular trip schedules we are also a member of the Connecticut Ski Council, a benefit that gets our members even more access to “affordable” skiing. Skier appreciation dates are scheduled at most all New England area ski resorts throughout the season. Members can go to the mountain on the scheduled date and by a lift ticket for a discounted price usually at about 50% of the regular price at the window. BEAT THAT!!!
Another benefit is the ability to buy pre-season lift tickets for most New England ski resorts at deep discount prices. The lift tickets are good all season, any day you want and no black outs. These extra CSC benefits are only available to our paid members using your club membership card.
We have regular monthly meetings, a Christmas party and a summer outing. During the non ski season, we also organize white water rafting trips, kayak trips, bicycling events and golf trips. It's a fun way to meet people, socialize and participate in activities as a group.
You can join us by simply coming to a meeting. See the calendar on this website for dates and times. Fill out a membership form, pay your dues and your memebership is complete, except for having FUN!!! The general membership meetings are social get togethers with raffles, prizes and occasional speakers from different points of interest within the activities we participate.
We hope to see you soon!
